Industrial Floppy Drive Repair

DPN currently repairs industrial floppy drives manufactured by Y-E Data, Trace, and Sony. Parts for some drives have been discontinued but may be in limited supply. Please ask for availability.

When a floppy drive is sent to us for repair we test the drive. If the drive does not pass the initial tests, then our technician first tries to adjust the drive to correct the problem. If the technician is unable to make the drive work correctly with adjustments, he will then determine what needs to be repaired, and make the repair. If this solves the problem we then notify the customer by phone or fax with the cost of the repair to see if they want to repair or replace the drive. Although this could potentially mean extra work for us if the customer decides not to repair the drive, it allows us to know positively when we contact the customer that if they approve the repair, they will have a working drive for the price we initially quoted. All repaired drives are cleaned, re-lubed, and adjusted to ANSII specifications. We then produce a small number of formatted diskettes with the drive and test those diskettes on MediaLogic 5000 diskette testing equipment before they are returned to the customer.

• This price includes the labor for most drive repairs. Parts used to repair the drives are sold separately.
